"Hastings Studio is the creation of Irene Hastings, an artist native of Newton Massachusetts. Irene gathers inspiration from the colors and complexity found in nature, and her surrounding environments. Flowers, animals and everyday events are constant subjects of her illustrations.
Irene studied illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City Missouri, and practiced traditional painting and drawing.
While balancing a career and a young family there was little time for painting but Irene still found time to draw. Not content with just creating images, Irene decided to appropriate their use to greeting cards, stationery and calendars. She strives to convey simple friendly, and heartfelt emotion in her cards."
